Turn It Up: Le Poisson Rouge with the xx & Finger on the Pulse

This past Saturday was Sheena Beaston‘s Raddest Radical Birthday extravaganza.   We headed to Lilly Coogans for some dive bar fun and then took the party over to LPR to catch The xx and FOTP.  I actually did not know of The xx prior to Saturday – but I knew it was going to be good.   LPR was packed with a bunch of downtown party kids wildin out and The xx front woman, Romy Madley Croft, was about to take the decks.  AnthonyNYC said it best, “Quite different from what you’d expect to hear on an album by The Xx, Romy’s solo set consisted of hip hop and pop classics from the likes of Aaliyah, Adina Howard and beyond. It was a great way to kick off the first Saturday of 2010.”  She killed it…Adina Howard… Freak Like Me… enough said.   Finger on the Pulse ( my favs!!!) came on afterward and continued the momentum – they killed it.  We had the dance party of all dance parties on stage.  And then we met Theophilus London out front.  Overall a wonderful night.
