About

The Downtown Diaries is a nightlife and entertainment blog focused on downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn, written by an event planner, publicist, taste maker, and professional party-er.  Me.  I originally started this blog as an anonymous look into my crazy nights out on the town – instead of having to repeat myself a billion times, telling all my friends about my late night antics – I started this blog.

The Downtown Diaries has now become a “go to” source for fun things to do 14th St and below- without the bullshit.   Unlike most New York City nightlife and culture blogs, I don’t just write about clubs with tight doors and partying with models and millionaires,  I keep it real.   New York City nightlife doesn’t have to be associated with dropping 2Gs a night.   I like to take a more down to earth approach to the Manhattan social scene.

I live in Williamsburg and I am not a hipster – well at least I don’t think I am, although some of my Philly friends beg to differ.  I am 25.  I work a “normal” job by day. Scenester by night.   I have to pay my own rent. I like street art.  Dance parties.  Electro Music. Exploring New York.  Dining in Brooklyn.  Finding new music.  And anything else I discover along the way.  I am the modern day-New York City- girl next door – I just happen to throw kick ass parties,  know a shitload of people, and more importantly – the right people.

This isn’t “The City.”  This isn’t ” Sex in the City.”   This isn’t the effing “Real World.”  This is the real New York.  This is My Life. This is  The Downtown Diaries.  No Bullshit.
